The Customs Road – Chemin des Douanier – ca 1923 on the chalk cliffs of Ault (Picardy, France), with a distant view at the Normandy chalk cliffs of Le Tréport. This Chemin des Douanier path is part of the several 1000s of kilometers long customs trail along the French coast created in the late 1700s to fight smuggling, illegal trade and fraudulent landings. Postcard made by the Ault photographer Maurice Lévêque. Image edited from scan dated July 21, 1923 in the Archives de la Somme (#8FI2408). Thanks to Maurice Lévêque’s postcards we now have many early 1900s images from the Picardy seaside resorts Onival and Ault, where he opened his atelier in 1905 at 26 Grande Rue. I found his atelier today in this postcard of the Grande Rue in Ault, he made before WW1. One of his postcards “3. – AULT. – La Plage et les Falaises, côté Cayeux” — which by the way shows 28. Grande-Rue — that was sent Aug 28th 1911 by Maria … was used in my recent film illustrating erosion of the coast over the last 100 years (see : Erosion Cliffs Ault 1911-2022 | Falaise #154 | 20230814 | 1-memo•com).

Crossing the million views mark today of ‘Channel 012’ — YouTube.Com/Channel012 .
Though , I generally do not produce / upload videos aiming for views only — still 1.000.000 views feels good. First upload starting Channel 012 – a vlog – was December 2007. The first five to six years of Channel 012 I generally only uploaded once in a while what I considered to be ‘popular’ work .. events — and, what I considered ‘serious’ or not-popular was uploaded on Vimeo only, and once in a while also uploaded on a second YouTube channel — called iClip, and reserved fir such work — or kept unlisted for years at Channel 012. Only some 7 years ago I decided to present all via YouTube Channel 012. I archived iClip some years ago.
In addition – not included in this count here – another around 200.000 YouTube views were counted for work in collaboration on other channels. Like 135K currently for the documentary film Transport XX to Auschwitz at @RBloomProductions .

After its inaugural exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in New York (1), and a European tour (2) at the Saatchi Gallery in London (UK), the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands (3), and next in Germany at the Kunsthalle in Munich, JR: Chronicles is now for the first time in Asia at the LOTTE Museum of Art in Seoul (South Korea).
The INSIDE OUT installation in the JR: Chronicles exhibition is screening our original film on Brussels’ Afghan refugees that was published first online for World Refugee Day June 20th 2016 : Béguinage Refugees Into The Wild (4) . This film wasn’t replaced by the special exhibition edition (with updated credits) we offered (Sep 2019) for the premiere of JR: Chronicles in the Brooklyn Museum. We later did publish that new 4K edition online , entitled “Béguinage Refugees Into The Wild ~ JR: Chronicles Edition” (5).
