Substack PDF • @1MEMO 20260706 • Just learned PDFs can be included in posts at the Substack platform.

No options are in Substack’s menu when editing a post , so I used to include a link to a PDF at my website hosted at WordPress – michelvanderburg.com .

However all that is needed, is : just drag the PDF file in the substack post while editing.
Next you can edit , the file name showing , add a description, and add a thumbnail.

The previewing PDF option available at WordPress sites isn’t available at Substack. Here the same post at my wordpress site https://michelvanderburg.com/2026/07/05/1999-pioneering-the-lumc-clinical-islet-transplant-project-1memo_20260705/

The iPad also shows a preview , but for scrolling the preview , click on the file name on the left side of the download button , allowing previewing without downloading.

Happy I can now use Substack for both images , video , and PDF uploads …

Note : Another nice feature at Substack is the option for readers to create / download a pdf copy of the post , that includes the layout and images
