Glass Angel

First time, today, I tried a Sony SEL 18-105mm F/4.0 G OSS powerzoom ‘APC’ lens on my full frame Sony A7 Mark III camera, and after a lot of set-up testing , tried this nice shot tonight.
I have been working with very nice full frame prime lenses – the Sony 55mm F/1.8 Zeiss on this camera , and the Sony 28mm F/2.0 on the A7SII, but I felt this relatively light zoom ‘crop’ lens will be more versatile for my report work.

The success story of ad-free journalism in Holland … the news organization with a direct connection to readers , the members , now starts to replicate worldwide , with headquarters in the U.S.
The site’s readers or members are a critical part in the ad-free journalism that gets done . Not just because members fund it with their subscriptions, but because interacting with them throughout the process of writing a story is a key part of what The Correspondent does.

Yesterday , after just 1 month , the global crowfunding campaign raised the required $ 2.5 million dollar with the help of over 40,000 founding members , it’s readers from all over the world.

Blackface


① memo 20181205 ~ Blackface ~ One of Al Jolson’s blackface acts performed by the dutch variety show artist Heintje Davids as shown in dutch movie theaters in 1930 in the ‘Polygoon’ cinema news. The blackfaced Al Jolson starred in the very first feature length ‘talkie’ (sound film) The Jazz Singer in 1927 – with a synchronized recorded music, singing and speech. In France , right after the liberation, Robert Clary was known as L’Al Jolson français.

Clipper Wilhelmina Sailing the Wadden Sea


① memo 20181129 ~ Clipper Wilhelmina Sailing the Wadden Sea ~ Almost 1 hour – slow – documentary film of weekend sailing the dutch Wadden Sea on the clipper Wilhelmina last summer (July 2018) from Harlingen to Vlieland and back to Harlingen.
Starting Friday , staying overnight on the clipper in the port of Harlingen on the Frisean coast of the Netherlands – next , Saturday, crossing the Wadden Sea , sailing to the Wadden Sea island Vlieland , and after spending the night in the harbor of Vlieland, sailing Sunday to Harlingen.
Filmed with an iPhone X using the Sennheiser ClipMic digital lavalier and music with the Sennheiser Ambeo headset for recording binaural 3D sound.
