① memo 20160531 ~ Filming Upside Down A Moray Eel ~ I was hanging upside down some 10 meters (30ft) underwater to film this moray eel on the bottom. To keep a safe distance while holding the camera with both hands , I varied the air reserve in my lungs – though breathing can be difficult in that position (audible at the end) because it can prevent normal function of the pressure regulator. (Excessive shake was reduced by slow-motion in post-production using Final Cut Pro X). Filmed 10 years ago using the Sony DSC-T1 – the first ‘credit card style’ digital camera from Sony – near the Tugboat diving site in Caracas Bay , Caribbean Sea, Curaçao (Netherlands), May 2006.
