Lost in Transition • @1MEMO 20250509

Jun 21, 2007, I started pioneering at YouTube, creating Channel012.
The first YouTube video ‘Fire Breather’ was shot at a 4:3 aspect ratio (640×480 pixels) and produced at a 16:9 aspect ratio with black bars for my first YouTube upload on Dec 30, 2007.

Unlisted ‘Fire Breather • 2nd Edition’

Next a 2nd edition of ‘Fire Breather’ was produced at the original 4:3 aspect ratio, and uploaded the next month, Jan 18, 2008.
YouTube displayed that 2nd edition at a higher quality. Sometime later though I decided to change visibility of that 2nd edition to ‘unlisted’ in order to preserve and favor the 1st edition views count.

Lost Forgotten Film

More recently that forgotten unlisted 2nd edition video appeared to be lost somehow…until I learned today that YouTube had changed visibility in 2021 of all unlisted videos uploaded before 2017 to ‘private’ automatically for security reasons with a worldwide system change.

Today I changed visibility at YouTube of that 2nd edition (video shown above) to public.

Full Review Sony B1M vs Sennheiser MKE440 Microphone | 20221213

Chapters
0:00:00 TEST #1 – solo testing outside of the Sony ECM-B1M Shotgun Microphone in wind
00:24:17 TEST #2 – Comparison of the Sony ECM-B1M digital shotgun camera microphone vs the Sennheiser MKE 440 stereo shotgun microphone – in 5 short episodes .

This full review starts with a solo test of the Sony ECM-B1M digital shotgun camera microphone, focussing on wind noise resistance, more on the windscreen, and distance – using both the supplied Sony fuzzy wind screen, plus – in addition as a second layer – another different fuzzy wind screen (from an old Canon DM-100 microphone). Next, follows a side-by-side comparison outside of the Sony ECM-B1M Shotgun Microphone and the Sennheiser MKE 440 stereo shotgun microphone. Cameras are the Sony A7S Mark II (with the Sennheiser), and Sony A7 Mark III with Sony microphone. There is a lot of redundancy in my text because this wasn’t planned as one long review – and talking was mainly to both take notes of the settings and as a sound test ;) Compilation of 6 review episodes published Sep 2019. Pancreatic islet transplantation Thesis Repository Leiden University | 20221125

Pancreatic islet transplantation Thesis Repository Leiden University | 20221125 | Michel van der Burg | Miracles•Media

Pancreatic islet transplantation , the doctoral thesis by Michel van der Burg – digital publication ISBN 9789080216402 – is freely available (Open Access) now in the Scholarly Publications repository of Leiden University. Persistent URL of this record https://hdl.handle.net/1887/3486604

The dissertation ‘Pancreatic islet transplantation’ was published first as a paperback in 1994 ( ISBN paperback 9789080216419 ) — and obviously that is considered virtually inaccessible in this digital age. Though it is still available ‘new’ — collectors item ;)
Last October the digital edition ISBN eBook (pdf) 9789080216402 has been produced and first released by the author / publisher Michel van der Burg at Miracles•Media as a free download , available from October 25th, 2022.

PDFA update | 20221124

PDFA update | 20221124 | Miracles•Media
November 24, 2022 , update PDF to PDF/A file … a tech story.
The original PDF upload at Miracles•Media on Nov 11, 2022 has been replaced today by the PDF/A version prepared Nov 12, 2022 for the Dutch National Library. That PDF/A file was produced by simply opening the original Nov.11 PDF in the Mac app ‘Preview’ (dutch ‘Voorvertoning’) , and saving that unmodified file (exporting) as PDF/A. The ‘A’ means for longterm archiving.
Comparing properties of both files in Adobe Acrobat Reader no differences were noted, except that the Nov 12th file ‘claims’ compliance with the PDF/A standard. Though both PDF version 1.3 files are expected to be identical / archival proof – offering one identical file both at Miracles.Media and the Dutch National Library is preferred.
I hesitated making this update – but it is required , right?!. Therefore the Miracles.Media site now also offers that same PDF/A file download : Viviane’s Story | ISBN eBook (PDF/A) 9789493147010 | 20221112 .

Pages – the software used for preparing these ePub and PDF ebooks – does not offer PDF/A export. PDF/A export was excellent last October using ABBYY PDF software for final output of another ebook (thesis) based on scanned paper. However ABBYY re-processing Nov. 11 of this 100 percent digital ebook – just in order to have a certified PDFA – gave poor results, and thus not done. November 12th I learned that simple workaround of reprocessing using Apple’s ‘Preview’ app.

Meanwhile that first – Nov 11 – file has been downloaded over 130 times.
