① memo 20181208 ~ Looe Key Reef Trip ~ Boat trip last month starting in the waterways of Ramrod Key and into the ocean to the beautiful Looe Key coral reef for scuba diving with underwater camerawoman Diane Lundy (divemaster Looe Key Dive Center http://www.diveflakeys.com ) using a GoPro Hero 3 – spotting dolphin (from the boat) , Goliath Groupers , sharks, stingray, barracuda, puffer fish, huge Spiney Caribbean lobster , sergeant barrel fish etc. Editing in Final Cut Pro X.

① memo 20181207 ~ Scuba Skills Update ~ I have been diving since 1991 (starting in Gozo, Malta) but my last dive was 12 years ago (dive #57 in Bonaire) so I got a Scuba Refresher last month from Diane Lundy from the Looe Key Dive Center in Ramrod Key ( http://www.diveflakeys.com ) in their pool in the morning before diving in the ocean in the afternoon on the Looe Key Reef, Florida Keys

① memo 20181205 ~ Blackface ~ One of Al Jolson’s blackface acts performed by the dutch variety show artist Heintje Davids as shown in dutch movie theaters in 1930 in the ‘Polygoon’ cinema news. The blackfaced Al Jolson starred in the very first feature length ‘talkie’ (sound film) The Jazz Singer in 1927 – with a synchronized recorded music, singing and speech. In France , right after the liberation, Robert Clary was known as L’Al Jolson français.
